I led a team of network administrators that designed, built and maintained the VMware VDI clusters for the Federal Aviation Administration across the United States.

I support over a 1000 ESXi hosts ranging from ESX 3.5 to ESXI 6.5 to VMware on AWS. From the posting it sounds like your having storage issues which sounds like a project I did about a month ago. They were taking VM snapshots every day but not removing them. So they had VMs with over 500 snapshots on them. All the datastores were at 100% and the VMs were crashing during slow disk I/O. I resolve this issue by cleaning some temp files to free up some space. Then using some PowerCLI scripts that I built to go through all the snapshots and flatten them and reclaim the storage.
