Hi, We spend a lot of time logging various contractor as they come in and out all day. We collect full name, address, driver license number, phone and all their company info. I can provide a list of everything we save. Ideally we would like to manually enter the details once and then have a "search" field where we can type their name and automatically look them up. It will need to automatically save a new contact when they are checked in manually. It would be good to have the ability to search by name or by company and have the ability to edit the "contacts" in case of a typo or if we want to delete someone who isn't coming by anymore. The visitor log should not be editable as we don't want it tampered with. We need to run a report daily or for whatever time period we need (up to 90 days in the past). This daily report should be automatically created, run and it must reliably emailed off before 12:30am for the previous 24hours 12:00am-11:59pm We would like a web based solution which can be hosted on a local VM which will be running linux and a free DB. Filemaker is a possibility but we would prefer a pure web based tool. The portal page must be password protected. Price negotiable but please include an estimated price if you feel you would be a good candidate. You have mentioned you want "web based solution which can be hosted on a local VM" >> I am not sure where you will Host this Solution. To use our solution, you must Run APACHE on your local Server, or will need to install LAMP. Please confirm me if you are aware of this. 2. You have mentioned "This daily report should be automatically created, run and it must reliably emailed off before 12:30am for the previous 24hours 12:00am-11:59pm" >> This is partially feasible with the Local VM. But to effectively use this it is recommended that you should have web hosting server, which is able to rum CRON jobs. I would like to discuss with you in more details. Hello Dan, This is Evgeny here from Russia. Your project sounds like a classical data entry project, I have done plenty of those. To minimize development time and effort I suggest I write it in Python language using Django Framework. This has been around for few years, so very much stable and has a lot of funcitonality out of the box. Database will be MySQL (Free). I will also take care about the deployment. Production server wise you can host it on local VM as you say or on VDS like digital ocean. I am new on this site and now want more good reviews and also I do not see a point in overcharging you, so my quote is rather reasonable. Hi, I'm currently working on something similar but more complex in my company. I firmly believe that I can do it in a short time like 7 days since I have a fresh experience for this kind of project. If you can give me the relations well, ( like who works at which company ) I can even let you search by phone number and the result will be the name of the company who works at that company with that phone number. For linux I'd suggest ubuntu OS and for database mysql is the most commonly preferred. For website design I can't assure you with completely new design. But I have strong experience on bootstrap and with simple theme I can make it beatiful for your eyes. In PHP language I have experience with Laravel framework. If you want another technology I have experience of rails, nodejs, spring frameworks. For security I can add layers to make sure that no one will be allowed to change or see data even if they somehow bypass the url. ( Method level access control mechanism ) Since it'll be my first project I can stand all night to do this project because more than money, I need a good referral :)
