Build me an application icon

Hi all, currently my business partner and I are working on an application to be introduced in China (living in Beijing at present moment). The application centers on the job market. Adjectives we are trying to exploit through this icon include: simplicity, calming, ease, fun, hopeful, and empowering. This project would be specifically for the application icon, not the logo of the company. Here are a few brainstorming ideas to give you some direction of the icon: * Lighthouse-symbolizing finding a path in the crazy job market * Pathway leading to a sun-signifying a bright future * Modified compass with the letter “E” inside of compass Here are some possible colors: * Different shades of blue: both light and calming and exciting and vibrant (can even veer towards blue/green or teal) * Calming, tranquil, and soft shades of green and orange * Vibrant shades of orange for differentiation from other colors * Variations of white-both fresh and calming shades * Variations of yellow (Not bright yellow or athletic gold) * Orangish-red, again for a sharp contrast from other selected colors Please however, feel free to make professional suggestions of your own, as we are open to modifications. Before working on the project, we will ask that you submit an outline of your proposal (privately). In addition, this project is open to all freelancers. We are a young company, so we understand that getting experience can sometimes be the toughest part. Thank you for your consideration!
