I would like to help you with your efforts to find funding for the Rex Allen museum. I am new to Freelancer, but I have over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector, including researching and writing many successful grants ranging from $2,500 to $80,000 or more. I led a small non-profit in Nebraska so I have a sense of the challenges you face. If you don’t already have leads for funders, I have a few ideas and would be glad to research foundations as well as businesses that might be likely prospects.
I suggest that I work with you to develop a menu of projects and price tags along with a case statement that we can submit to multiple funders. That will help us match specific renovation projects and price tags to appropriate funders. I can turn around a grant application pretty fast, but I would like to give us plenty of time to identify the most likely funders, put together an appealing proposal, and ensure we have all the information needed to meet the requirements of the potential funder.
I have substantial experience in project development and general writing and editing (newsletters, magazines, and research papers, in addition to grant proposals), and would be glad to provide samples of my work or answer questions.
I just watched Colorado Sundown, which made my day, and I can see why you are so committed to keeping Mr. Allen’s memory and body of work alive. I hope you will give me the chance to work with you, but either way I wish you well in your effort!
