My name is Sergei. I am expert structural engineer with 13 y. experience based in UAE and have I am expert in structural engineering. I want to say at once - designs using containers I do not have . But this is a good reason to get hold of such a design in my portfolio. There was a guy with whom we tried to use containers for housing, but we have not agreed. Your problem - like by all owners, who want to accommodate shipping containers for indirect use. I have repeatedly seen similar applications and everywhere there was one question - "how to make as many holes in the walls, ceiling and floor panels - that the container retains a residual strength and stiffness". Surely I can tell you - the margin is large (I'm attached to inform you a document ISO 1496-1 , according to which you can see at what loads and impacts calculated shipping containers , at least in USA). In any case require new calculations for the weakened walls or ceiling / floor panels, which will certainly be after working of architects. With extensive experience in structural calcs (including corrugated sheets) and reconstruction, I am ready to help you with your problem, namely: - perform FE analyzes for the new situation - calculate and design a strengthening - collect the loads on the foundations, choose the optimal number and location - check the new building on the wind and seismic loads, if necessary - perform the structural plans and calculations reports Please ask more.
