(i)A screen with a fixed aperture is placed a short distance in front of the source. Explain what is likely to happen to the radiation which passes through the slit with the aid of a diagram. (ii) If the frequency of the microwave radiation is 12.5 GHz and the aperture has a width of 12 cm and a height of 3.5cm what will be the horizontal and vertical beam widths of the microwave source respectively? (3 significant figures) (iii) The microwave energy is reflected from a metal surface inclined at 11° to the direction of the source, through what total angle will the reflected energy be deviated?
