Hello!
I'm Silvia, a passionate and dedicated English teacher from Bucharest.
I've been tutoring students aged 5 to 20 for over 10 years and worked both in the public sector and private one.
I mainly tutor Cambridge test takers (PET, FCE, CAE and IELTS) and I am familiar with the exam formats and requirements. I've seen SAT tests before and I found them really well structured and rather easy to go through, compared to the tests we used to take here, in Romania.
I did try to find out more about the project, but I couldn't, unfortunately.
Will these students sit SAT or SAT-like exams so that they are accepted as students in the USA? To my knowledge, in order to show proof of the language level, students are required to submit the results they obtain in either CAE, IELTS (although some programs accept FCE too) or TOEFL.
I would also like to know if you have lesson plans or a draft of the syllabus, since you mentioned this is a start-up. Is that something that can be discussed? I would gladly participate if needed and/or considered.
Will these students be taking the classes together or will there be one to one classes, or smaller groups? If there are level differences (which, in my experience is always the case), for good results in shorter periods of time it is best to split them up in smaller groups.
I am looking forward to hearing from you! I am genuinely interested in the project and hope to find more about it.
Sincerely,
Silvia
