Power BI integration with SAP Business byDesign pilot project

Previous experience in extracting data from the cloud (SAP Business byDesign) into possibly MS Azure in the cloud (but can be something else), so that it can be analysed in Power BI. A pilot project on a test system will help senior management make an informed design if Azure and Power BI is the best option for our business. Any pro and cons or alternative options will be useful to make the correct decision. At the moment when we are trying to analyse data from ByD we are using spreadsheet extracts that are very difficult to extract when they get bigger. Our immediate needs and pilot project would be: 1. Revenue by company, profit center, month and product 2. Similar to #1 but related to margin (revenue less cost of sales) 3. Project related information so project teams can easily view their data 4. Timesheet hours so that management can review hours recorded to billable projects, non-billable projects and non-project time. 5. Performance and spend by profit center and cost center as it rolls up to the regional reporting Before we start the project we are interested to know what connectors to use (ie third party or SAP API for ByD). We will only be interested in extracting data at this stage. And what licences we would need and their likely annual cost. We will only need a single user for the pilot and if successful then the business will have no more than 10-12 users on Power Bi. As a business we have our senior management interested in regional reporting and then local management would be interested only in their area and/or projects. Ideally the data would roll up perfectly to the regional reporting and you can drill through to the transaction level. We are not sure about the security options for Power BI and this is only likely after the pilot is accepted. The security would be that users can only see their area and projects, but senior management can see all the information. So we are interest what you can provide to MST in terms of 1) guidance and 2) building a working pilot, and 3) user training and support.
