**Infrastructure Technical Specialist**
The Office of the Chief Financial Officer is looking for an Infrastructure Technical Specialist contractor to provide technical assistance to computer system users on a variety of issues such as identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems for an IT Service Desk, working on special IT projects to support strategic desktop initiatives, and providing desktop support. The contractor shall provide expertise as defined in the following section:
? Managing and supporting 2000+ desktops/laptops and related peripherals to ensure they comply to hardware, security, software, and operating system standards.
? Architecting new solutions to improve the maintenance and management of desktops.
? Providing desktop engineering support including responsibility for the maintenance of all software/tools/utilities installed on desktops.
? Providing optimal tier 2/3 customer support to all OCFO staff.
? Providing account management support to OCFO end users via Active Directory and other OCFO applications.
? Creating technical documentation, policies, and standard operating procedures as needed.
? Managing the desktop computing environment, including operating system/BIOS upgrades, development, maintenance, and versioning of the operating system build, as well as application installation automation and system configuration manipulation using both packaged tools and various Windows scripting languages (PowerShell, VBscript, etc.).
? Developing efficient desktop imaging deployment processes and procedures based on best practices and which considers software/hardware/application/network changes.
? Reporting of desktop deficiencies and responsible for tracking the status of outstanding issues and ensuring successful remediation.
Ability to effectively schedule and facilitate meetings with individuals, stakeholders, and/or vendors to resolve complex issues and/or achieve defined goals.
Must be able to lift/carry forty (40) pounds, travel to offsite locations within the District of Columbia, and perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
