CLOUD COMPUTING EXPERTS - NEED A solution design and proof of concept - UPDATED

This PROJECT is an individual piece of work, where you will design a cloud solution and implement a proof of concept that demonstrates autoscaling and fault tolerance. OBJECTIVES are: - Evaluate the most up to date commercial platforms for use in building cloud computing applications. - Critically review common software architectural styles to build cloud applications. - Select appropriate distributed version control to manage applications development. - Evaluate the challenges involved in developing large scale applications with cloud computing. Details are: To design a cloud solution and build a proof-of-concept cloud application to meet the requirements of XXX Ltd, a cloud-based video streaming service. To understand the requirements of the design PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING SCENARIO. Your proof-of-concept should demonstrate the functionality of the tiers you propose and should include as a minimum, load balancing of traffic to the web service tier, high availability, and automated shaping of the service components. Scenario XXX are a UK based video streaming service with a global client base. They have contracted you to design a solution for a forthcoming project that aims to gain additional insights into the behaviour of users. Specifically, XXX would like to gain insights into how their users are interacting with content. Currently they have access to log files that identify the segments of a video that a user has cached. Going forward, XXX would like to gain additional insights from the exact time of day and point within the program a user interacts with content e.g pause, play, stop etc. This will require a temporary modification to their client software to push the current status of the application to a new web service that you will create. Due to the quantity and variance of traffic, they require the service to be scalable and cloud based (they do not have in house capacity to host the service). Due to the nature of the client software involved, the data must be captured at the time of creation, so the service must be highly available and must be capable of surviving a region and provider failure. The new webservice should capture the following information. AccountID User Name Title ID User action Date and time Point of interaction Type of interaction The XXX data analytics team are not DevOps experts and they expect you to create a single command method of deployment for both platform and application code. Due to the nature of the data, the analytics team require a secure connection to enable the extraction of data into their analytics platform.
