rare coin collection
₹750-1250 INR / saa
During the period 2004 - 2007 the RBI introduced some coins on the theme “UNITY IN DIVERSITY”. The 1 rupee and the 5 rupees coins show a “plus" symbol with four dots on each side. The 2 rupees and the 10 rupees coins show a “double plus" symbol with four dots on each side. As these plus signs resembled a Christian Cross, these coins are popularly called as Cross coins.
The 1 rupee coin was minted in the years 2004, 2005, and 2006. The 2 rupees coin was minted in the years 2005, 2006 and 2007. The 5 rupees coin was minted in 2007. The 10 rupees coin was minted in the years 2005, 2006, and 2007.
When there was a massive public protest against the issue of these Christian Cross Coins, RBI stopped the mintage of this design on coins from 2007.

i) Issue of 2004:
This is one of the rarest coins issued in the Indian Republic.
This coin is having another name said to be " unity in diversity " .
But in this Mumbai mint 2004 coins is very scarce and very hard to find in indian market because very few has been minted which are countable around 100 or 150 may be. And at present each coin price around 10000/- and in coming years it might goes to in lakhs which is said to be scarce and those who are having these coins keeping intact with them may generate good revenue. Not only in indian market the international market will be searching around the globe for such type very highly demanded coins which are very hard and rare to find out. Actually i am having five coins of it with me.
The observe side of the coin is having cross symbol and within four dots is minted with diamond symbol at bottom which is a mumbai minted mark. The four dots resemble that four religions as our nation is mixed with several religions living together . One is hindu, second is muslim, third is christian , fourth is sikh . And after minting certain issues were raised based on these four dots having some problems raised in circulation to stop. And later only 2004 1/- cross coins were stopped minting which is mumbai mint.
