Election security is an essential component to maintaining the integrity of American Democracy. Attempts to diminish that integrity threatens the democratic system itself. These threats have sparred action in state and federal governments to address these increasingly relevant issues. Problems range from maintenance and security of physical ballots, to appropriate election officials and following best practices, to securing voter registration data and voter awareness of divisive political tampering used to influence election results.
