Accountant / Bookkeeper - Experienced in UK VAT Returns - $150 per month

We are seeking an analytical, hard-working, meticulous and communicative accountant / bookkeeper, with experience in UK company filings and VAT. You will be doing accounting and bookkeeping for an Amazon ecommerce business based in the UK. Your role will involve: - Downloading VAT and expense invoices from emails, scans, websites and other areas into a shared folder - Inputting VAT rates on invoices and calculating VAT - Create a system for matching all invoices with transactions - Reconciling card and bank statements - Requesting VAT and expense invoices from merchants - Submission of late VAT returns and accounts for previous quarters - Know all UK Accounting and VAT laws, rules and rates - Do bookkeeping, VAT returns in UK, confirmation statements and other filings - Prepare monthly management accounts - Set up real-time software tracking revenues and expenses of the business - Prepare and submit annual returns and confirmation statements - Prepare annual financial accounts - Operate UK payroll - Research and apply VAT rules in the EU to EU VAT returns in Poland, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands - Communicate with EU VAT accountants The following are ESSENTIAL for this work: - Fluent spoken and written English - Be punctual, keeping to deadlines - Numerical skills and ability to use Microsoft Excel for numerical analysis - Hard-working ethic and a drive to succeed - Organised, self-starter with initiative, ability to work independently, plan and manage time - Desire to learn Days and hours: Initially it will be Monday-Friday, 9am - 5pm as you set everything up and file late returns for the past quarters. Then when you've caught up with everything there will be more flexibility with the hours so long as you are completing the required tasks. You must be contactable in case of emergencies. Internet and power: IMPORTANT: you will be working through a connection to a remote computer, and you will need to install screen recording software on your computer. You must therefore have access to a reliable and fast internet connection with an unlimited data allowance. You must have reliable power with no outages. Pay: $150 per month For successful applicants there will be an unpaid trial period of up to one week before the start (depending on how quickly you familiarise yourself with everything and demonstrate your competence).
