Design an App for Museums. The app should be applicable for as many different kinds of types of museums as possible. The idea is to have one master app which has all the functionality and every feature. And then be able to configure it for individual Museums, Zoos, Nature Parks, etc.

Please read the pdf which lists all the features we have thought of so far. You are encouraged to be creative from both a UI and UX perspective.

Please design as many screens as possible for us to get a good idea of your style. Please also choose at least one of the more complex features which might be multiple screens. We want to see how you design the flow of the user through the app, as well as a great UI.

Please note that the design in the pdf is not a guideline, it is simply a very poor and preliminary attempt from our side to get stated. You can ignore these.

Please NOTE:
We forgot to mention that the app should be configurable from a UI perspective. What we mean by this is, the Theme should be switchable to different color schemes as well as different Fonts, etc.
This is more important for implementation, but it might be important for you too during the design.

Please note that we did not Guarantee the project on purpose. We had some bad experiences in the past, where the submissions were all very sub par and only very few submissions, and we still had to pay. However, we want you to know that if the design is good, we fully intend to pay.

We expect clean and structured Photoshop files as a deliverable as well as a set of PNG and JPGs. The Photoshop files should be structured logically (e.g. by screen in groups). Please name every design asset in photoshop appropriately. Do not leave the names as circle_copy1, circle_copy2, etc.

      PSD files would be better, but if we choose you as a winner, we would probably be able to adapt to whatever makes you most efficient. Just keep in mind to upload a couple of screens so we will be able to review them.

    hello and thank you for adding this challenging contest. Now I am in the "gathering knowledge phase" and I've read the pdf file several times. An idea came into my head and I would like to add an extra-feature to this project. How about scanning the QR code of a subject: car, animal, picture or whatever is in the specific institute and bring some extra data in front of visitors about that subject. How about preparing the Ui for the VR technology and "make room" for you to add it in the future? I would love to talk to you on the chat, also I can give you some Ui/Ux I did until now. Thank you!

      Hi Radu, we thought about VR before, the problem is that the content needs to be created, and most museums don't have any VR content yet. Which is why we initially focus on more traditional content. However that is not to say the VR could not be a premium feature int he future. It just isnt the focus yet.

      Hi Alex, If you want to start with just a few, i recomend to not do the simple ones (sign up etc) as they are always similar. But focus on the more complicated workflows in the app. E.g. admin content onboarding, etc.

      The colors should be configurable. The app is going to be whitelabled, which means the client will provide their color choice and we will be able to change the app accordingly. Hope that helps.

    Do you accept Sketch files instead of PSDs?
    Professional UI designers nowadays use Sketch as it is easier to handoff to the developers.

      Unfortunately we don't have anyone in house who is familiar with sketch, only photoshop users. Therefore in order to be able to make possible changes in the future, we would like them to be photoshop files.
      is there any possibility to export the sketch files to photoshop? If so, that might be best.

      Hi Hardik, Since this will be a whitelabel type of application, the logo will be different from museum to museum. This is important to keep in mind for the deigns as well, as with the logo change the color pallet and maybe even fonts need to change (themes).

    Quick question: Would you accept Sketch files instead of PSD? I can't think of any UX designer nowadays that still works with Photoshop to design app interfaces.
