The screenshots show the general concept of the website graphic design only (colors, styles, etc) . The pictures in the sreenshots are NOT examples of the "witty, cute illustrations" we want. They are just placeholders. We don't want to change the concept of the grapohical design, so the illustration must be suitable for the current website design.

Please ask if you need any more information.

You have to have the all the rights to the illustration and transfer them to us af we select your offer and you get the prize.

OK. Let's extend the contest to a mascot. Cannot change topic, but this clarification changes the scope. Does it make sense?

how about the style you want, if you have any. it will pinpoint the direction more.
or perhaps any description of the mascot that you are after. witty and cute will direct more to a more cartoon character. but in my mind something more adult like whiteboard style is more appropriate for your need

: ).. Well, just to get the ball rolling - #20 - the expansion as you've given it does make sense, it's just a case of finding a likeable little character and then having them illustrate what it is you as a company do. You're small, as a business - so you want something nimble, cleaver and quick but - obviously - with humor. And that's important because - the fact that you aren't some faceless conglomerate means you understand small business. And that's really everything you're customers need to know. As long as whatever conveys the sense of that - you have a formula that works and you can adapt however you need. Really the hardest part for us is nailing your sense of humor. That's where we have to tread lightly. Anyway - good luck with it. Hope you get the entries you need. M :

Could be 3-4 separate illustrations or a short comic story of 3-4 drawings.
Not many details, the first impression matters most, because we usually have only a few seconds to attract website viewer's attention.

    Possible topics:
    1. "Starting a business can be tough. Let us help you with the most challenging aspect of starting a business"
    2. "Create an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) "
    3. Financial support (investment) for startup project

I think simple drawing, with little details would be best.

    Mark,

Your idea is good, but I don't know if we could change the goal of the contest now. I have to check.
REgarding the quantity, we had 4-6 illustrations in mind. Simple, with little details, because visitors seldom have time to analyse details.

Okay - if you can't edit the brief, the idea's there. So long as you're not averse to the idea, if you can allow it as an option - perhaps if designers want to approach the task by creating a mascot, that way you get the best of both worlds and a point in comparison for yourself, see which approach works best. I think 4 illustrations probably works best , for the price. As Mayar says - if you could provide examples of the kind of illustration style you are interested in - for those sticking with the brief - yourself disclosing the kind of style you're looking for would really help people nail the look you're after, especially with the short deadline. Thanks for the info. M : )

I agree with Mark's point but if you wish to continue this contest as it is, can you please give some examples of illustrations you like or some sketches of what you have in mind?

    We need to know:

a: how many illustrations do you require and are you expecting these all for the one price (100 USD)?

b: generally these things work better if you - first - develop a MASCOT representing your business and then have MASCOT introduce the various informational bits and pieces to the site visitor. That way everything is consistent, you're not having random elements that don't tie together cropping up.

Might I suggest you use the contest to - first - develop a suitable and appropriately cute, non-offensive mascot character - and THEN carry on with the illustrative stuff using the character either in a separate contest or else simply working with the designer who's character you pick.

100 USD is fine for a character design but, realistically, not so great for anything more than just a couple of illustrations.

Please bear in mind, you're commissioning a deductible for your business, here.
